Pearadise Found

White sandy beaches, crystal blue water and mojitos, or pina coladas if you prefer, to your heart's content. All made for an amazing, albeit too short, 4th anniversary celebration in Cancun, Mexico.

We left the kiddos at home; Kinsey floated between grandparents while Sutton remained with the 'Golden (retriever) Girls' at Mimi and Papaw's house. We flew out on Wednesday, a 9:00am direct flight had us on the ground before noon and crashing the fully stocked in-room bar by 1:30pm. At first glance, we knew immediately that our little 4 day, 3 night excursion would come to an end much too quickly. The junior suite was shotgun style with a modern feel. The ocean and private balcony were visible from every point in the room, including the enormous jacuzzi for two. "Awwwesome" is the only way to describe the hotel and it's amenities.

Friends and family always want to know what you did on vacation. In a sense, we almost feel guilty for not being able to tell tales about wild parties or adventurous tours of ruins. Breakfast, pool, lunch, beach, dinner, bar... our vacation in a nutshell, but exactly what we were looking forward to. Instead of describing every detail, the equivalent of busting out a 500-picture slideshow on dinner guests, we'll treat you to a few of the highlights...

False Laborers. We decided to take a late night stroll along the beach after dinner one evening, apparently not an obscure romantic notion. However, this evening was busier than usual with a throng of people huddled together directly in front of our resort. Two large [female] sea turtles had dug holes almost a foot deep with their large flippers continuously tossing sand in the air. As occasional Animal Planet watchers, we were able to recognize the situation almost immediately. However, they made their way to shore before the end of the night without laying any eggs. A team of workers representing a wild life conservation group was stationed near the area to collect any eggs and transport them to a [protected] hatchery. Despite the full moon that evening, we think the spectators may have just killed the mood for them ;)

Pearadise a la Mode. The resort offered four different dining options: El Alamo, The Steak, Oriental Lounge and La Tratto, where we devoured one of the most delicious desserts imaginable. The chef presented us with a picture perfect pear baked in a wine glaze and filled with a cream cheese and ice cream center as the evening's special. Delicioso!!!

Hey! So good to hear from you. I'm glad to know you have a blog. I love keeping up with friends through the blog world. :) Yes, we have some extra tickets to Coldplay. The seats are on the floor, section 7 row A. Great seats. My husband is hoping to get at least $375 for them. Do you think you guys would be interested? If we don't find someone we know to sell them to, we're going to try to sell them on Ebay. So let me know if you're interested! I can't wait for the concert!!
